Coffee Gator French Press Review

When I started moving away from my electric coffee maker, the first manual coffee maker I used was the French Press. My first time trying to make coffee in the French Press was very humorous! You can read all about my experience here,  My Journey Into Specialty Coffee Part 1.

After becoming familiar with the French Press, I tried the Chemex, then the Aeropress. What you need to understand is that each coffee maker / brewing method highlights the coffee in its own way by the way it is brewed. That being said, I’m not a huge fan of the French Press. Personally, the coffee tends to be stronger and often there is remaining sediment at the bottom of the coffee cup.

When I received the Coffee Gator French Press, I could tell right away, this was NOT your ordinary French Press. It was heavy and solid. The press itself is insulated, which is the number one problem in ordinary French Press makers, the coffee gets cold so quickly.

The other thing I noticed was the wide mouth pour spout and the easy grip handle. I couldn’t wait to make some coffee! It was easy to use, my coffee stayed hot and I had very little sediment! I was SUPER impressed, this is your Cadillac of French Press Coffee Makers!
