Square One Coffee
Lancaster Pennsylvania is often thought of as beautiful country fields and scenic farmland. While that is true, the downtown area of Lancaster is beginning to blossom with local coffee shops. Square One Coffee is one of those shops.
Off a side street in a renovated space, Square One Coffee can be found. I love when you walk in, you can still tell that it was an old house. The original floors are still there and the exposed brick, adding wonderful character.
The baristas were so friendly and approachable. The menu was super simple and streamlined. I ordered a cold brew for something different and my husband went for a current special drink they had on the menu, a special smore’s coffee drink.
The shop has much seating and we sat down to enjoy our drinks and take it all in. There was unique art on the walls and I appreciated that they roasted and served their own coffee. They also sold Chemex and V60’s for the aspiring home barista.
The place was packed with character and the coffee was great! Besides the delicious coffee, the feel of the place is what stands out in my mind. It felt like it blended in perfectly with the local area. The coffee shop was not trying to be pretentious and I felt like it paid respect to the locals by maintaining the feel of Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
