Stone Werks Coffee

Local coffee shops are popping up everywhere and I could not be more thrilled! Three years ago I struggled to find a local coffee shop and there wasn’t a thing as a “coffee only” blogger. Now, there are many coffee bloggers and local coffee shops are becoming a trend – this is an exciting time in the coffee wave!

Stone Werks Coffee was a new coffee shop in Boonsboro Maryland when I made my visit. A historic town, circa 1792, with a need for local coffee, owners, August and Elizabeth Stone saw this need.

The shop is small but lovely indeed! The charming storefront draws you and once inside the exposed brick wall and leather sofa calls you to stay a while.

Black Rifle is the coffee served here. As a veteran, they chose Black Rifle Coffee because of percentage of sales goes back to the veterans. On the menu you can order anything from black coffee to “FrooFroo” coffee drink as they call it. This shop has a drink for everyone! I ordered a black coffee and an iced latte, both were good. They also serve coffee called The Wicked Goat. I didn’t try any at the time of my visits.

The bonus feature of this shop is that it is also a bakery! Their website is actually “stonewerkssweets.com” Offering freshly baked cupcakes and other delicious baked goods.

To sum up, this is a shop that I have returned to and the atmosphere is perfect for long chats with a friend. The owners are kind and as sweet as the baked goods on the menu. Stop by the next time you are in the area. If you aren’t, go out of your way to enjoy this local coffee shop .
